The 'sweet' feeling of victory, after finishing my production work

Editing
VIDEO AND AUDIO
I wanted my edits to look clean and edgy so I used my trusty, 'davinci resolve' to edit my short film. A software I find confortable as well as reliable and I really wanted a place where I wouldn't have to worry about my files getting corrupt.

This is what the software looks like:-

For the audios edit, I once again relied on 'davinci resolve'. Mostly because I thought it was an unecessary effort for me to edit the audio seperately as well as it was easy for me to make sure that the audio was in sync with the video. I just went ahead and used all the audios I had recorded on my phone, exported to 'davinci resolve' and finally edited all of the combined sounds.

Perfection
I want to take a minute to talk about my editing. As I had mentioned in my research earlier, I wanted something sharp and crisp. Thus, one can tell that almost all of my transitions and cuts are simple, but with a little'spice'.
For my first scene, I required cloning my lead, for which I typically used masking, but here's the density of my editing: in the masking technique itself, I have also used jump cuts of my lead doing different actions to deliberately show the passing of time; towards the end of that scene, I used clear cuts alone, and that's it. Another transition used here is 'J-cut', which is typically that the sound of the shot starts playing before the visual is seen; in my edit, as she continues talking, the shot changes, with the lead simply carrying on with what she was narrating. Then, the transition from my first scene to the next was a clear cut again, but I used a movement to switch, an 'invisible whip-pan cut'. I use this transition as a way to show what is going on in my head. An invisible whip-pan cut is actually just a jump cut; however, the difference lies in the presentation. I show this as the scene's action from the previous shot continues in the next shot as well, but in a different location (the action being the camera moving up rapidly). Thus, the transition is hidden in the whip-pan movement of the camera. This scene then carries on and has simple cuts throughout, giving justice to the idea of crisp transitions. The scene that switches from my lead and her love interest to the investigation scene uses a 'match cut' which is, the action of the previous shot matching the next or is similar to that of the next shot, which in my edit is the closing of the characters eyes and then the opening of the office's door. Then there are clear cuts, also known as 'cutting on action', which is typically that an action will keep going in the same place at the same pace, however the angles, the shot is taken from changes, simply giving diversity to a shot that may seem too prolonged otherwise taken from the same angle throughout. This scene then continues with a visual showing the flow of events. These events are just shown in a hurried manner, showing elements of a story by simply using jump cuts. The next shots and scenes throughout only use jump cuts to emphasise urgency.

Final post edit

I signed off by uploading the link to my movie on my Instagram account.

Instagram account
In my opinion there are three main types of constructions when it comes to a social media page, heres a little drawing explanation for them:-
The lines in between, formng a grid and drawn to denote a seperation between all the posts on the instagram page (posts are shown in my drawings)

The whole account, that is all the posts on the account show a continuation through images and words. As if, all the posts are one.

There is a use of colours to convey the mood of a movie, A good example could be how a horror movie would use shades of red to put out their social media promotions.

Noticable there's a aspect of development throughout all of the posts. This an amazing marketing tactic used in promotions to make a certain movie's audience and target viewers feel this sence of eagerness, as they wait for its release.
(you can click on the underlined accounts to go view their pages)
For my account, I had an idea all along. I wanted to construct it in a way that would be engaging. I looked at many instagram accounts, such as, @StrangerThings, @TwilightSaga and @Batman. These accounts that I mentioned above had very interactive and loads of posts that were almost relatable and brought a smile to peoples faces on seeing, at least mine.
The pictures that the production companies or publicists would post were mostly those of behind the scene, which were goofy and light hearted, they'd also post picture of convergence, like for instance if someone would colaberate with them or if they'd add an additional production aspect to their media product. I wanted to construct my Instagram page something like that as well. With fun picture but with adequate information to understand the purpose of the post.
